UK ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2022 – 4-15 MAY 2022

Now in its 24th year, the longest running festival platforming new independent and mainstream South Asian films is back for its 2022 edition. Centred around the theme ‘Dare To Dream’, this year’s festival commemorates 75 years of India and Pakistan’s independence. Through a programme of film screenings, premieres, live events and industry panel discussions, #UKAFF2022 will address a wide range of issues from climate change to personal and societal freedoms; the opening film, the World Premiere of Abu Aleeha’s Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story Of A Serial Killer, is a statement in that it has been banned in Pakistan. Presented by Tongues of Fire, the festival will run from 4th-15th May in venues across the UK (including London) and online via BFI Player and Modern Films. An unmissable chance to immerse yourself in the world of South Asian cinema.

ABUNDANT ART X V&A PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL 2022

Abundant Art is delighted to feature in the line-up of the V&A’s Performance Festival 2022 (23 April – 1 May). On the 1st May, we will be presenting our documentary project ‘A Meeting of Cultures’ at the Hochhauser Auditorium, in the V&A’s Sackler Centre for arts education. During this free event, we will explore the impactful collaboration of Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova and Indian dance pioneer Uday Shankar through a screening of our documentary film; a special choreography with dancers @lewisthedancer and @_aishanighosh (by @protimachatterjee_) and a discussion with specialist panellists. Our event is just one of many in the Festival that aims to celebrate dance in all its forms. We’d love to see you there, this Sunday at the V&A!
